Get indexed quickly.

It is possible to get into the index in 24 hours or less. Here’s how:

Submit to the social’s – Digg, Del.icio.us, Reddit – the usual offerings. As they have a high crawl rate, they will get you noticed. Submit to Google’s URL inclusion request form. Get yourself a MySpace, Bebo, or Facebook account. Blog a bit, and stick your link on there. Put your URL directly into Google’s search box and hit search. Add a sitemap – submit to Google’s Webmaster Tools. Open a dummy adwords account. Wait for the standard issue 24 hours and voila, your home page will appear. Give it a couple of days and Bob’s your uncle the entire site gets indexed. Due to the fact that Google has to analyse onpage content – Adwords is a sure fire way of getting indexed.

Find broken links.

As a busy website operator, sometimes its difficult to keep track on all of your site links. There are two ways of making sure you have no broken links. One is the almighty Xenu link Sleuth the other is Google Webmaster Tools. I personally prefer the Google method, because it lets you see what isn’t being indexed as well and why. You can find the following information from Google.

Set geographic region

A recent addition to Google site tools is the capability to set a Geographic Target. This allows your site to appear higher in the SERPS for local searches. If your website doesn’t have a Global appeal this makes good business sense. Go to Tools > Set Geographic Target and add the required information. Your site will start to get more targetted traffic.
