I’m not a massive fan of java applets in web applications, but ever once in a while, something comes along and you think, ‘hey, that’s pretty cool even for Java’. TouchGraph are one such company who are giving java applets back their kudos. You may have come across them previously for their excellent java Google browser. Following on from that, they have produced a recent experiment integrating with the Facebook API.

Ever wondered how your friends are connected to your other friends? Well, you could do the usual Facebook stalking and browse to each of their profiles, but well, that’s a bit old school.  TouchGraph have produced a fun little visualisation which does just that. Simply click between your friends to see the connections and who’s connected to who. The larger the circles, and stronger the lines, the more connected they are to you.

See for yourself. Touchgraph Facebook visualisation.
