Incase you weren’t already convinced of how awesome javascript and canvas can be, feast your eyes on this little beauty. ‘Silk‘ was created by Yuri Vishnevsky a freshman at a university in New Jersey, as an experiment in computer generative art.  Don’t however, expect things to work in Internet Explorer, this is going to need the full stack of wonder that decent browsers enjoy.

An iPad version is already in the works, backed with finance from a KickStarter project. At time of writing Yuri had already exceeded his financial goal.

It combines javascript with some funky maths equations, allowing users to draw directly in the browser, and generate decals and patterns that can be shared with others via Twitter. Very cool.
