Google roll out ‘something different’

Just noticed that Google are now showing a new “something different” section in the SERPs when using high profile brands and site names. This is likely coming from traffic patterns of users between sites, and hopefully will filter down to the lower traffic’d sites before long. It’s long been recognised that Google can profile and categorise sites with ease, and this only further reinforces that belief.

  1. Lol, that’s different.

I searched for “google” on google and got something different:
yahoo, altavista, lycos. But no Bing… Does that mean that bing is no different from google? :-)

Well spotted Peter, hadn’t performed that particular search. Manual intervention? Looks pretty suspect to me!
