Google have just released Brand Pages bringing the same functionality available for individuals to businesses. Some of the brand pages already created and up and running on the platform include All American Rejects, Anderson Cooper 360, Angry Birds, Barcelona Football Club, Burberry, Dallas Cowboys and Good Morning America amongst others. The official Google+ business page highlights just what is in store for businesses within the Google platform.
A number of pages are already available, but any organization will soon be able to join the community at plus.google.com/pages/create.
Another powerful feature that will a massive impact on adoption is a feature Google are calling ‘Direct connect’ – which allows users to simply place a + at the start of search queries, instantly finding their brand pages from the search results. For those of you who had been missing the ‘+’ operator from the main search engine, this was no doubt the main reason behind this technical decision. Direct Connect will be introduced gradually to those businesses that join the platform.
