Timeline is a beautiful javascript library for producing interactive, scrolling timelines. Built on top of jQuery, it offers an easy way to pull in a variety of media types to your document, and display in an easy to browse way. Out of the gates Timeline has built in support for pulling in Tweets and image content from Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, Google Maps and SoundCloud, with more planned for the future. Data can be provided direct to the library through JSON – and according to the documentation, there is also capability for tying this up to a Google spreadsheet should you wish.

It’s not the only game in town though SIMILE Widgets , TimeGlider or Timelinr all offer a similar javascript based solution, albeit not quite as beautiful or with the media support provided by this particular library.

For historic data such as your company growth, or to showcase the rise to fame of stars, Timeline offers an elegant and clean solution for developers looking to get moving quickly.
